Marko is currently researching with Krishi and Elijah about engineering the yeast Issatchenkia orientalis to secrete alginate lyase. This work aims to catalyze the degradation of alginate in brown algae for sustainable resource utilization. He is from East Windsor, New Jersey, and is an undergraduate majoring in Chemical and Biological Engineering at Princeton University.
