Bio/Description
Makoto's research focuses on engineering optogenetic circuits to dynamically control microbial growth and production for metabolic engineering applications.
He obtained his B.S. in Chemical Engineering, with a minor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, from UC Berkeley. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, baking, reading manga, and playing video games.
