Lei is interested in translating biotechnology breakthroughs into solutions for sustainability challenges. Lei received her Ph.D. degree in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from Rutgers University, New Brunswick. There, she focused on developing SynBio tools and engineering microbial consortia to improve sustainable bioproduction. Outside the lab, Lei enjoys hiking, fishing, exploring museums, and cooking.
