Fabiola Figueroa is a rising senior at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, pursuing her undergraduate degree with a strong focus on sustainability and renewable energy. Back home, she has been deeply involved in the design and operation of home-engineered anaerobic digesters for biogas production, combining hands-on experimentation with a passion for environmental solutions.

This summer, Fabiola is thrilled to join the Avalos Lab, where she will be working alongside Sergio Garcia on cutting-edge research. She looks forward to expanding her knowledge in microbial systems and metabolic engineering while contributing her unique perspective and enthusiasm for sustainable technologies.
