Endri is currently researching with Jaewan Jang about engineering E. coli utilizing optogenetics to optimize the chemical production of important chemical commodities, such as eugenol and phenol. This work aims to produce eugenol and phenol without the sustainability issues that come with normally extracting them, particularly consumption of plant life and petroleum refining, respectively. He is from Cedar Grove, New Jersey and is an undergraduate majoring in Chemical and Biological Engineering at Princeton University.
