About
Bio/Description
Adam is interested in the role of inorganic pyrophosphate (PPi) in cellular metabolism. The dominant hypothesis for its function lacks experimental support in the literature, leaving open the possibility of another, yet-to-be described, role for this ubiquitous metabolite. He is currently focused on developing methods to accurately measure PPi in vivo and on understanding PPi's impact on engineered microbial strains. Before joining the group, Adam worked in scientific leadership roles in the biomanufacturing industry at Ginkgo Bioworks, Zymergen, and elsewhere. He received his Ph.D. in Biology from MIT.
